The Birthing on Country (BoC) e-Learning Resource is a self-paced online learning tool for midwives and other health professionals engaging with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women. The e-Learning Resource has been developed to be used by both mainstream maternity care services and in the context of Birthing on Country maternity care services. The BoC e-Learning Resource is being developed as part of the Australian College of Midwives (ACM), Merck Sharp Dohme (MSD) Birthing on Country Project which is supported by a grant from MSD through its Merck for Mothers Program.
The course provides information about CMV and congenital CMV; that is CMV infection passed from a mother to baby during pregnancy. The course aims to update you on how congenital CMV can adversely affect babies and prevention strategies for reducing the risk of infection during pregnancy.
This FREE course has been developed for midwives in partnership with the Foundation for Alcohol Research and Education (FARE), as a part of the Women Want to Know campaign which aims to address the impacts of alcohol consumption during pregnancy with the aim of increasing midwives knowledge on how to advise women about alcohol in pregnancy and whilst breastfeeding.
